    Day 4 – Parmesan and Poppy Seed Crackers

    On the fourth day of Christmas The Pink Whisk sent to me…..Parmesan and Poppy Seed Crackers – perfect for your cheeseboard!

    Parmesan and Poppy Seed Crackers

    Makes 24 thick crackers.

    Ingredients:

    300g plain flour

    2tsp baking powder

    1 tbsp sugar

    1/2 tsp onion salt

    115g butter

    2 tbsps vegetable/sunflower oil

    2 tbsps poppy seeds

    130ml water

    30g parmesan cheese

    Begin by adding the flour, baking powder, sugar and onion salt to the bowl of a food processor.  Pulse to mix them up well. Read the rest of this entry “

    Day 3 – How to make Fudge (with a Christmas twist of course)

    Of course you can make any flavour you like and I’ll show you how!

    Just a word of warning – it’s hot, very very hot please don’t burn yourself and keep the kids well out of the way.

    Ingredients:

    1 x 397g tin of condensed milk

    150ml milk

    450g Demerara sugar

    115g butter

     

    100g Christmas Pudding

    1 batch of Vanilla Sugar Cookie Dough

    Lolly sticks

    Sugarpaste in peach or pink, red and black (or a black icing pen)

    White edible ribbon (Renshaws) or white sugarpaste

    Royal icing

    Hurrah!  For me, Christmas starts on the 1st December, I have to be held back until today before festooning everything in sparkles and fairy lights because I’m a Christmas nut! So anyway, the website is the same, today starts The Pink Whisk’s 12 Days of Christmas, one Christmassy bake or project a day for the first 12 days of December – like an advent calendar but with only 12 (think 24 might just finish me off!)

    Small sugarpaste star cutters  and medium star cutters

    Silver balls

    Holly Wreath Cake

    Holly Wreath CakeYou will need:

    1 x cake marzipanned and covered with white sugarpaste, instructions on how to here

    Green, white and red sugarpaste

    Round fluted cutter

    Edible red glitter

    Steak knife

    To create the two shades of green, take equal amounts of the green and white and knead together until fully combined.  You should now have a dark green and a complementary paler green. Read the rest of this entry “
