Inspired to Bake? #GBBO
Wow what a final on #GBBO last night! Congratulations Nancy!!
All the finalists did so brilliantly well they would all have made worthy winners.
I’m going to give a special mention to Luis, as we both live in Poynton – it must be a hive of baking ability – hopefully third time lucky Poynton will conquer with a winner 😉 Luis’ blog is here www.luistroyano.com
Chocolate Amaretto Schichttorte & Cashew Baklava
It’s not often I get to bake something a little bit different from the norm but these two #StorkTwist recipes delivered it in bucket loads.
First up a Chocolate Amaretto Schichttorte – the method looks a little daunting, baked in layers under the grill but I have to say I loved baking it and loved eating it too!
Lemon Meringue Pie
Let’s bake a lemon meringue pie – is there anything better?
Makes: 1 x Deep dish 8″ Pie
Ingredients:
Pastry
225g plain flour
100g butter, cold diced
Roasted Tomato & Olive Palmiers & Kouign Amann
This weeks #GBBO inspired recipes
My favourite #StorkTwist recipe of this years Bake Off – Roasted Tomato & Olive Palmiers
And, the pastry none of the bakers had heard of – a Kouign Amann my version with Salted Caramel and Pecans.
#lovemyfridge
It seems I have recipes all over the place at the moment, but I know this is one you’re going to enjoy. I’ve joined Bosch in their #lovemyfridge campaign and shared with them my favourite leftover recipes.
Sunday roasts are a regular occurrence for my family, a trait I’ve inherited from my Mum (I still can’t do them as well as Mum can!)
Pastry Wrapped Pears & Earl Grey Custard Tart
Halfway through a hectic week getting my boys back to school, Bake Off last night was a very welcome chance for a sit down, feet up and enjoy the baking!
The programme is hugely inspiring everyone to get in the kitchen and bake so if you fancy a custard tart with a twist or fancy a shot at tangling pastry and pears then these recipes with a #StorkTwist might just help you out!
Cheese & Onion Pie
This has to be one of the very best things to come out of my kitchen – you may have to save me from a Cheese & Onion pie addiction!
I have a great friend, Dor who shared a Cheese & Onion pie with a great group of ladies recently and I have dreamt about it ever since, plus with Father’s Day approaching and knowing my Dad loves this pie as much as I do I knew I had to give it a go.
Creative Éclairs
Can I interest you in an Éclair or two?
I am sure a plateful would be gone in a flash round here!
The official launch date of my new book, Creative Éclairs – is the 25th April 2014 but I’ve heard that they’ll be arriving in the UK early – hurrah!
Baked Camembert
Just a little dose of Valentines inspiration for this quick and easy starter or treat to share with a loved one (or indeed if they don’t like cheese aka Mr C, just to eat on your own!)
Valentines Heart Baked Camembert, and no you don’t need to go hunting for a heart shaped cheese, add a regular round Camembert to your shopping list and I’ll show you how it’s done…
You will need:
1 x Camembert cheese, either small or large.
